Erin Decker
Born in Sylvania, Ohio, Erin began their training in the YMCA’s creative movement class and at a small local studio. In 2015, they moved to Naples, Florida and continued their training at Naples Ballet under the direction of Toshiko Tompkins and Christophe Maraval. There, they were able to perform in numerous ballets such as The Nutcracker, George Balanchine's The Nutcracker with Miami City Ballet, Cinderella, Coppelia, Alice in Wonderland and Sleeping Beauty. They continued their ballet training over the summers at The Sarasota Ballet, Next Generation Ballet, The HARID Conservatory, and Cincinnati Ballet. After high school they continued their training at the University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music under the direction of Shauna Steele, and esteemed faculty Dierdre Carberry, Qi Jiang, Tricia Sundbeck, Gema Diaz, Ihiaih Miller, Shane Ohmer, Rae Vrbancic, and Isabele Elefson. They have had the opportunity to perform both male and female roles in new works by faculty and students, including Paquita, Esmerelda, La Bayadere, An American in Paris, Swan Lake, The Little Mermaid, Coppelia, Giselle, Still Waters by Shauna Steele, X by Joshua Stayton, Stretto by Matthew Farmer and Juxd’a pose by Ihiaih Miller. They also presented works for the conservatory’s Student Choreographers Showcase in 2023 and 2025, earning their Bachelors Degree in Dance. Erin is very excited to be joining Azara Ballet this season!
